I am currently attending a NJ CC, 19, male. and preparing to graduate with a gpa of 3.7. Unfortunately, I did not do as well in high school, 3.0 gpa, 570cr 500math SAT. I had a lot of trouble throughout high school and in junior year a tumor was found in my ear, leading to missed time and schoolwork. Also, I had been suffering a fifty percent hearing loss in one ear which had gone unnoticed throughout my life. I regained my hearing after my surgery and decided I needed to change who I was and pour everything I could into school. I decided to go the CC route. I am looking at schools and feeling unsure about my high school grades affecting my chances, I want to shoot as high as I can, I want something urban, diverse, with a motivated student body, any opinions? I appreciate it very much. Thanks!

high school record will not matter really if at all and you do not even have to provide your SAT scores for MOST schools once you have completed 2 years of college coursework- or community college coursework. By graduate i assume you mean getting your AA-- you will get prefrence at state schools with your AA . I would apply to Rutgers if i were you, it is a good school and being instate you will get a good tuition rate. Trust me, you do not wan to spend 40k a year on something like NYU undergrad- it is not worth it.

Thanks. Yes I will be getting my degree by the end of the semester. Will I have a shot at U Mich, PITT, NYU? Im planning to major in econ.

anyone else?
