Ok Ill go short. Should I stop playing piano?

I play piano, and I have no commitment of playing instrument.
I do not see why I do.
Though my teacher, piano professor in state university said today

"I teach you not for the money, I teach you because I see you spark inside you. If I feel like you are just not(going or improving, I think similarly like this) improving, it is nothing for me. You have to tell me."

Though she added it isn't that frustrating yet, though just letting me know.

What do you think?

Do you enjoy it, or not?

That should tell you everything

Not necessarily enjoying it.

I wish i played an instrument. I would try it longer and see if you get to like it. If not you should get a guitar or something else. I wish i had a real guitar.

Is your teacher Russian?

Also, quit if you don’t enjoy it.

I think having an instrument to play is a valuable skill and something you might enjoy later in life. I quit when I was little because I had an abrasive teacher, and I sincerely wish I could go back and take lessons and have a base when I’m not swamped with high school commitments. Self-studying piano stinks.

I would encourage you to continue playing it and think deeply about if you would want this skill later in life, just for fun or for college purposes (let’s face it, most kids sacrifice for the sake of college), and then make your decision.

Straight men don’t play piano. Stop NOW.

You mean playing instrument helps me to be get into college?

Not bragging, but I am pretty discent player, if not I won’t have chance to get lesson from professor. That’s what I think and most people might agree.

So I am little confused, and bit tire.

And I just think,
I would rather be athletic person rather than musical person.
You know I would rather spend time to work out rather than practice piano.
Even in college, playing piano doesn’t really helpful, I would work out to stay in shape…

Consider this: Is it piano that you don’t enjoy or your professor? Having a good rapport with your teacher is so important in music because it’s a one on one relationship. If you’re not clicking with your current teacher, maybe try another one to see if you like their style better. You may just not click well with her musical philosophy.

Personally, I wished I had done that. I took trumpet lessons from the most prestigious professional in the area and I think his method was just too regimented for me at the time. I wish that rather than quitting lessons altogether I just went to a teacher who would help me improve in a more informal way. I know other trumpeters who really enjoyed their lessons and clicked with their guy. It’s all about finding the right personality to work with.

Also, Funstuff - Women flock to guys who can play instruments. Not just guitar. Especially if you can play pop music on the piano…like a guy who can do Coldplay is set. That’s instant conversation.

I dont think theres anything wrong with dudes playing the piano. The guys that i know who play the piano aren’t geeky, they are rich enough to own a piano. Learning one instrument would make it easier to pick up something else. And you can be athletic and know music both.

I would say to stick it out. It can’t be that tiring. I quit my instrument a few years ago because I got tired of it, but now I really really regret it. I now find playing my instrument useful in calming myself down from all the stress of college apps, and it’s usually better to play when you’re good. just sayin.

:O have you also had bad experiences with russian teachers?

If you don’t like it and see no reason to continue I wouldn’t. It also depends on how long you’ve been playing though.

I’ve been playing for like 10 years, I am good player,
and my teacher, professor, is most skillful player as well as most talented profession teacher I have ever seen before and I would never see it later.
Thanks for all of you, I think I should stick on to music and be athletic person too.
And what is that mean girls flock…?
