Today I recieved my third and final nomination for USAFA =D. So as of right now I have two nominations from senators and one from my HOC. I am still currently recovering from my miniscus tear so the school gave me extra time to take the test. So I guess my question is, after I take the test, what happens? Do I just wait or are there things I should be worrying about considering that I have already read many threads about people being accepted a month ago.

I was considering just sending a bunch of suck-up letters to USAFA but I guess thats if I get wait-listed =(.

i'm guessin the "test" is the CFA.. over 1000 of the appointments go out in march. the ones that have gotten theirs before are highly qualified or intercollegiate athletes.. LOA stands for Letter of Assurance; it's what you get if you're accepted to the academy but dont have a nomination and/or your DoDMERB isn't through yet.. don't forget, the deadline to turn everything in is March 1st

I was talking about the Fitness Test sorry. And after reading the forums I assumed that HOC stood for House of Congress. I could be completely wrong again in which case sorry again.

Also now that I know what a LOA is... dam. Is it bad if you dont get one?

The LOA's should be gone by now. Early offers of admission are being extended, but the bulk of admissions won't occur for another month. You should check your admissions website, and see what is still not complete. If the CFA still ahs not been completed you may want to get on that.

If you had a medical issue you will need to work closely with DoDMERB, and the USAFA Med Group to clear any physical issues. USAFA issues it's own waivers, and you will have to request them directly from the USAFA Surgeon Generals office. Check your DoDMerb site and see if you have any DQ's issued. Then gather all the information you can to support a waiver, or rebuttal.

zach's right; very few people get LOAs.. it's definitely not BAD if you dont get one. like i said, over 1000 of the appointments go out in march, and they dont get LOAs

Oh wow so that definately helps me feel a bit more confident lol. And in regards to the medical stuff, I have already recieved extra time to finish the fitness test but Im still trying to finish it asap.

Unless I'm missing something, the 2012 app is closed. Where I login to check my status it says the following:

"Applications for the USAFA Class of 2012 (entering in June 2008) are now closed. If you have already submitted an application you may check status by entering your log on information below.

Applications for the USAFA Class of 2013 (entering in June 2009) will open on March 1, 2008."

Chris, are you sure USAFA has given you more time to submit the CFA? It looks like they're done accepting stuff... I didn't know they gave extensions. Just wondering.

I had wondered the same thing but was corrected that the deadline for new apps is January 31st, while you can continue to update your open app until March 1st, this allows time for another CFA or any medical issues to be cleared up, or maybe a last minute SAT on January 26th...

You might want to post what state you are from, so other candidates will know if the slate went up instead of checking their profile everyday. If I have my facts correct the slate goes up with all of the names and are given a WCS, since the CFA is not complete, than the slate can't go up. Good luck on your CFA!
