for example, can you submit the common app, but have your teachers submit the Penn app’s teacher rec forms rather than the common app teacher rec forms?

?? would it kill u to give them the common app recommendations? i mean it takes two secs to print em off. oooh wait...did you already give them the penn recs and so they've already written? if so, then...dun know. im sure they prefer consistency with what u turn in. cuz they dont want u to turn half on paper and half online so try to send all the same stuff, but if u cant, im sure it's not a big deal

so i submitted the Penn app, but my teacher reccomendations were from the common app. According to my GC, since they accept both their app and the common app, it is PERFECTLY fine to mix and match.
I was accepted, btw.

and for teachers, KRN, yes it is a big deal. For teachers at competitive schools, who are writing 80+ reccomendations for students, non common app forms can be very annoying .... and that annoyance can sometimes be seen in the letter or reccomendation ............

yes, i know, im at a pretty competitive school too. my teacher writes 100+ recs, and i think that if your teacher is gonna be annoyed by taking an extra 5 minutes to read different directions on a supplement recommendation rather than the common app recommendation, then that teacher's lazy.

I called Admissions to check on this a few months ago and the girl I spoke to was adamant to the point of hostility that I wasn't allowed to mix and match the teacher recc forms.
