OK without SAT or ACT?

<p>Hi,
I'm an international student from Vietnam.
More specific, I'm from Hue which is in the middle. Well, there is no place I can take SAT or ACT here. I've known that there are some centers in Hanoi or ho Chi Minh City but they are miles away. If I go there then I'll have to be away from school for at least 5 days.
The worse thing is that my school is a highly demanding one, some courses are at college level. I study 14 subjects every semester and there are tests on almost every week. I can't miss the tests. In short, it is impossible for me to take ACT and SAT so I'm kind of worry.
Is it alright without those scores? Do I need to explain to the school why I can't take these tests or should I request my teachers to do so?
Everything else is, I hope, pretty neat. Well, actually, I had a B each on Math, Physics And chemistry last year during a hard time of my life. However I'm major in social science. I've won some prizes which are very competitive. I do charity works every week. Well, of the school, I'm still in the top and unweighted rank in top 5 of class. I have been valedictorian too. I've got onto nation news and newspaper articles for my prizes and academic excellent too.
I think my essays for college are okay. I guess that my peer evaluation, teacher and counselor recommendations are good. But I need financial aid so I'm applying to some quite "not-a-cake" schools including Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Brown (though its aid seems hard to get), Williams and Princeton. :(
Thanks ahead for any of your ideas.</p>

<p>I don’t have an answer to your question, but I think you should email individual schools explaining the circumstances. I’m sure they’ll provide the answer you’re looking for.</p>

<p>financial aid + international?</p>

<p>just give up</p>

<p>You need to read everything (and I do mean everything) at [EducationUSA</a> | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](<a href=“http://www.educationusa.info/]EducationUSA”>http://www.educationusa.info/) Then you should make an appointment at the advising center closest to you. If it is truly impossible for you to travel there, ask if they can help you over the telephone or through email.</p>

<p>Some colleges and universities in the US do not require ACT or SAT scores. You can find a list at [The</a> National Center for Fair & Open Testing | FairTest](<a href=“http://www.fairtest.org%5DThe”>http://www.fairtest.org) If the colleges/universities that you want to apply to aren’t on this list, you should contact the international admissions advisors directly to learn if the requirement can be waived in your individual case.</p>

<p>I’ve asked Harvard. They said it was alright without SAT and ACT and I only need to submit TOEFL.</p>
