If you read my thread on the HSL forum, you'd know that I like that show

Anyway, I was wondering if I could use it as a SAT essay example??

haha itd be an iffy example, imo examples from history and well-established literature are more solid, but this is just my opinion ^_^

no man, go for it! the blue book has a 5 with an example from the show friends: it was actually fun to read. as long as you dont write like an obsessed fan, but instead like an insightful student, it will work fine. diverse personal interest examples are more exciting than people give credit for.

I know a guy who wrote about the Spongebob Squarepants episode where Squidward goes to live in the squid gated-community and then comes to despise the same routine everyday in an SAT essay about conformity vs. individuality.

He got a 12.

So yes, Big Bang Theory, I would believe, would warrant a legitimate example. If you are really worried, just say it’s some Portuguese newspaper’s most famous weekly segment and it’ll count as a literary example or something.
