<p>Whats the difference between the two dorms? Physically, demographically, socially?</p>

dingier, smaller rooms, hall style, closer to class.</p>
<p>new:
also somewhat dingy, but they're replacing them one by one (new ones are hall style), suite style, larger rooms, farther from class.</p>
<p>i think the social aspect is blown out of proportion. you may know more people in old dorms, but you'll know them less well than the people you'll know in new dorms.</p>
<p>There are wayyyyyy more hawt girls who sunbathe by old dorms...</p>

<p>well you havent ever lived w said person before and usually they take advantage of you being friends whereas normal roommates wouldnt
example
your roommate leaves pizza boxes all over the room
what you say to...
roommate from hs: you'll clean this up soon, right? (you have asked this 5 times and are getting annoyed)
roommate not from hs: ima sick the RA on you if you dont clean up your ant infested food boxes.</p>
<p>and then you end up getting into fights because your roommate thinks everything is okay because you're friends when really they're overstepping their bounds, you end up being worse friends.</p>
<p>Socially, most students in old dorms are more conservative and end up in a frat or sorority.</p>

<p>and one more problem is that somehow when you know a friend THIS personally (sleep with them for a semester), you will discover a lot of things you dislike. :)</p>
