Ole Miss honors college

How much more difficult is the honors college at Ole Miss? Do you really get the best professors and does best mean the ones you would prefer? Can you get into the honors classes you want?

Honors enhances your undergraduate experience. Small classes, access to the best professors, priority registration and full access to the honors college building. So, yes, you should be able to get into the honors class you want. You can take as many honors classes as you want. You have to take 30 hours of honors classes which is about 1/4 of most degree programs. Honors professors are hand picked by the SMBHC to teach so they have a good track record of working with students. @cegi45

just be aware that the honors college is mainly for those interested in liberal arts - nothing wrong with that but just something you need to be aware of if that matters to you

The Ole Miss School of Engineering has the second highest student population within honors. It is open to students in any major and students from all majors (pharmacy, hard sciences, accounting, engineering) have all graduated from honors. Obviously, there are more liberal arts students in Honors because that College has the most students overall.

The above are great examples of engineering and pharmacy students participating in the Honors College. If a student wants the Honors experience, then they have every opportunity to be successful as an honors student. Do not let a choice of major prevent you from taking advantage of a great opportunity!!
