Olympics!

Who's watching (or planning to watch) the Olympics?! I just saw the United States women's vollyball team beat Japan and saw the opening ceremony last night. I thought it was so creative how they lit the torch by lifting the guy so it looked like he was flying.

I'm going to watch tons of swimming. Michael Phelps all the way! I also have a friend who's swimming the 400 IM and 200 IM for Russia, so I'm going to be rooting for her. And Dara Torres is also amazing! Diving, gymnastics, and vollyball are also favorites of mine to watch. (Right now I'm watching fencing.)

The Olympics is just so darn inspiring. Just thought we needed a thread on here dedicated to it.

I watched it while I was getting my mani/pedi. I saw the rowing, beach volleyball, and a little bit of the cycling. I'm also looking forward to the gymnastics because I believe a guy from my state is going to be competing.

I might watch some of the gymastics, if I catch it while it's on.

Other than that I am not a fan of sporting events, so I doubt I'll be watching much. I only caught very small bits and pieces of the opening ceremonies because my boyfriend was watching a movie and I was reading.

I love the Olympics, I'll be watching them as well. The opening ceremony was fantastic but for a second I thought that the torchbearer was going to fall from the ropes as he was "flying". Can't wait till wrestling starts on Tuesday and I'll be watching lots of wrestling, weightlifting, swimming, and the obscure sports that are never on tv (handball, fencing, table tennis, etc. )

Yay for fencing! US got gold, silver, and bronze. :)

I feel sorry for the Olympians. You can see how horrible the air quality in China is just by watching tv.

This is the one time I'll cheer for Coach K.

CP3 is from my hometown.

I'll be watching the USA-China game tomorrow. Time to reclaim basketball as OUR sport. Go USA basketball!!

watching our weak excuse for mens beach volleyball right now

Baseball, basketball, soccer, and women's beach volleyball. ;-)

Women's basketball. Go Big Syl! although I'm kind of worried about her, she just got back in the game and i don't want her to come back worn out and unable to help the Sky salvage their season.

i loove the olympics :)

Beach volleyball, basketball, and swimming. USA! USA!

Gymnastics ftw. My schedule is being set around it.

Swimming too if I'm home and don't have anything else to do.

"watching our weak excuse for mens beach volleyball right now"

Yeah really we lost to Latvia in straight sets :/

I'm hoping to catch handball, ping pong, and tennis, though I probably will miss them all.

Taekwondo all the way.

swimming, diving and gymnastics are the best ones to watch.

I usually watch it, but since I'm in the US right now I can't watch the Canadian athletes.

You're not missing out, they've shown the Canada vs China women's soccer match at least 3 times today on CBC.

Taekwondo, swimming, athletics and gymnastics - and whatever else I can pick up along the way. Shame everything is on between 2am and 1pm Irish time :(

I like to watch tennis, weightlifting, track and field, and judo.

The opening ceremony was beautiful :D Zhang Yimou really knows what he's doing... His films are beautiful too!!

I'm watching it in korea and i must say , its a lot more exciting to watch it over here because in the States nobody cares as much...
If we win something I know because I hear screaming out my window LOL
That's how I found about the 400M men swimming gold medal while i was doing my turbo jam ROFL. Loud cheering outside all the sudden
