Since there's a lot of different threads scattered around, I thought I'd start one big thread for the games.

Anyway, the women's gymnastics is on right now. Anyone else think that first Chinese girl looked a lot like Shawn Johnson? Same size and age, too.

I'm watching WATER POLO (men)!!!!!! OMG did you guy see how good Montenegro was for their 1st time every w/ water polo. they tied w/ hungary (the defending champs!!!). Amazing. Also, Spain had a fantastic team!!!!!!! U.S. is gonna crash and burn. They rely too much one one person and could barely beat China (the worst team of them all). I'm excited to see Serbia! They are beast. We have 2 Serbians on my water polo team at school and they're beast. I've heard, however, that they constantly shoot the ball instead of pass. It must be a Serbian thing cuz the Serbians on my team do the same thing! I think Montenegro is going to win the gold because everyone's underestimating them.

The gymnasts are so strong -- it's amazing that they can have such discipline over their bodies...It's too bad, though, that one bad landing can ruin years of work

It is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Instead of spending 5 hours online on CC, I spent it all watching the Olympics. The Volleyball, Swimming, and Gymnastics are definately my favorites!

Anyone else feel that the Olympics makes you want to work even harder in your academics? I mean, these people obviously had to work their butts off all their life, and it sort of draws a comparison to how we prepare for college. I don't know, but it's left me pretty motivated.

With that in mind, I guess I totally forgot about athletics. I will admit though that the basketball game had little bearing on me as a high school player because the U.S. team (obviously) wiped the floor with the Chinese. I wish they wouldn't stack the team with NBA superstars and use college players instead like baseball (though obviously they can't use MLB players because they're in the middle of a season).
