i was sent an e-mail saying i was accepted! i was freaking shocked. the title of the e-mail was " Duke University- IMPORTANT" and i was like " omg my application isnt complete or something" and then i just scrolled down and it was really long and then i saw the words like free ride and scholarship and i was like...umm okay i didnt apply for any scholarship why are they sending me this. so then i read it and was like " OH MY GOD"

i guess im 1 of 15 people getting evaluated for a merit award covering 100% of tuition and any academic persuit i wish. i feel so honored. they choose about 5 ppl so im so excited i have like a 1/3 chance. omg. okay and even if i dont get the award they will cover like whatever tuition financial aid doesnt cover...and since my parents are both doctors ( which i clearly stated on my app) i guess they will pay anyway. idk
this is exciting

does this count as a likely letter? im not sure becuase it was blatantly like " you were excepted out of 19,000 applicants"

Those of you who got the finalist letter, do you know when they let you know whether you got the scholarship or not? Any previous BND recipients (or non) know the answer to this one?

dman- I was not a selected as a BN Duke scholar, but jellybean was. Searching through her posts from last year, it seems like you find out April 10 or so. The same for the AB Duke.

Congrats everybody! I got in, too! Woot Woot! I am also up for the BN Duke scholarship. The interviews are a whole month away, but I'm already nervous.

Robertson is service-oriented. In addition to tuition, Robertson funds summer internships. The first year in the US, the second abroad, the third year your choice anywhere in the world.

yeah, 350 out of 19,000 got likely letters (mid feb?) and the FAQ that came with the letter said that you would either get invited to Duke Up Close or to a merit scholarship weekend...and hear about that by "early march"

I just got one. The email about the scholarship said 40 are invited for the interview weekend or whatever and I think either 15 or 30 actually get it. Congratulations to you all!
