I manged to get into AP Bio today and my counselor tells me that I might have some summer assignments. I was like ok and no big deal right. But now I am screwed! School starts in like 4 days and now I have to do an outline on 5 chapters in the Bio book(which I don't have). I have been using the online version but there isn't alot of text, which makes me worried that the real book is different. So I emailed my teacher and I get no reply. Also it took me 3 hours so far and I'm not even through half of Chapter 1! Oh and I have to read a 230 page book(which I don't have) and write a book report(probably have to be very very good). Not to mention I was going to work on my apps and essays this weekend, go to dentist, and go talk to a teacher to correct a grading mistake from last year. AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Google AP bio outlines... problem solved, make sure it's the same edition book.

she wants it hand written

copy the online outline

yeah, but I won't learn anything. I will be lost when class starts and in a AP class, that is a nightmare. And I signed up for the class to learn Biology, not copy outlines all night.

Stop spending so much time on the stupid outlines. Scribble a few things from each paragraph and move on. You should be able to do a whole chapter in an hour tops, even if the chapter is fifty pages long. You don't have to be an expert the first day of class.

Drop the class and take it another year! problem solved.

calm down. it really isn't that crazy....you can just do outlines of each subheading...toss in a few facts....you can re-read the chapters later

I'm a senior and I need to take Bio before I go to college because I am going into pre-dent and have forgotten most of the stuff I took in sophomore yr.

Don't make me come over there and finish your homework in one fourth of the time you think it's going to take. Hurry it up! It's not rocket science. Your homework job isn't going to kill anyone. Just finish it.

Meh, I would just tell the Biology teacher I found out I was in the class four days before and well, with no way to get the book four days in advance of the class, do the outline, and do the reading, I wouldn't be able to do the summer assignment.

When someone like what you're describing has happened to me, I tell the teacher something like what I wrote above and they are usually understanding.

well I did send her a email saying I might not get the book and I will do what I can on the hw but she didn't reply. Doesn't she check her email at least once a day! Oh and on her website it says no exceptions right next to the assignment so I think I better just do them. I think this week is the hardest I will ever work for school and school didn't even start!

^ Time to grow up. I had to complete an entire physics problem set the night before & read two (very long) chapters. I'm no physics expert, either. This should be fun! (I'm in the same boat btw. Haven't looked at chem, calc's, english or government work and I'm just chilling, but in two days I'm going to be very miserable and behind)
