Ok, I just the BEST email from my regional admission officer. "Hope you're doing well. We need your official SAT scores to completely process your application. We have your unofficial scores, but we need some sort of official documentation of those scores. Please have them faxed to us ASAP: (203) 432-9370 and addressed to [regional officer]. Thanks so much!"
So I talked to my GC and she basically told me that this was a good thing because if I was definitely going to be deferred or rejected, they would not care if my application was complete, so I either a borderline defer/admit or admit. YAY! It is especially good because she emailed me 3/4 days before decisions come out!!!!! Did anyone else get similar emails??

this is just a cruel thread!...

or boarderline reject/defer

no didn't get ne email like that...

I'll bite chocolatelover whatever---and I'm masochistic
what were your sats?

a got an email a couple of weeks ago similar to that. he requested my scores and parent information. I guess it means that we werent rejected in the early rounds.

yes, this is rather cruel.. TT haha did you notice that we basically have the same name? ++

i got one on thursday asking me to fax one of my teacher recommendations because my regional admission officercouldn't find it. my counselor said the same thing as chocl8lvr's counselor.

Argh! Nobody's told me there's anything wrong so I'm going to be rejected!

Or everything went fine in the application process. I like that one.

bob: i highly doubt im borderline reject/defer because they could always just contact me later in the rd reading round if they decided to defer me.
Also, i really didn't mean for this to be a cruel thread, but i just needed to get it off my chest. I can't tell any people at my school because I go to a really competitive private school and people would bite my head off. I guess I'm just elated b/c today I definitely felt that I was going to get deferred. Oh well, I still think im gonna be deferred... We'll all find out soon enough. 3/4 DAYS!!!!

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but they do that to everyone. If your application is missing something they ask you for it. It has nothing to do with your likelihood of getting in.

ummm, not according to one of my gc's who used to work at harvard in admissions and my other gc who used to work at stanford in admissions...
But again, according to my gc's, the fact that they still even care about my official sat scores soooo close to the day decisions are released means that they are definitely still considering my application for admission

I hate to say it, but I agree with SEWcurious... you shouldn't read too much into these types of things

yeah when you get contacted by admissions people, they usually do care about you. happened to me. they asked about my FIRST semester. crazy. of admissions office, i love you.

Well, we'll see what this all means in a few days time... I'm sure you've got a great chance. Good luck!

Ditto, GL to everyone

Hi, this sorta happened to me too, except I'm applying to Harvard, and in my app. status just 4/5 days before decisions results, someone changed the status of a messed up "unofficial" SAT score to an "official" one (collegeboard couldn't have done it b/c they sent out all my scores at once ages ago, and the comp. database couldn't have done it randomly). so maybe someone checked to see if my scores were official, and when they found that the "unofficial" score actually was sent by collegeboard, they changed it to "official." TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!

I THINK you will find out your decision soon.

You know...it's kind of funny...this situation happened to me, too, sort of. Unfortunately, I think it means that I got deferred (then again I could be wrong) because I got an e-mail today from a Yale alumae asking me for an interview for Dec. 20 or 22 and I applied early. Hey, at least I'm still in the running, I think and hope. :)

Aretsuya--the same thing happened to me. The interviewer called me last week and we set up an interview for tomorrow, but she seemed very surprised when I told her at the end of the conversation that I had applied Early Action. I suspect that she received my name very late in comparison to those of other EA applicants (I mailed paper app at the last possible moment, 11/1), and perhaps she just assumed I was applying RD. So basically, I'm hoping that this is not an automatic sign of deferral :-(

I'm trying to convince myself not to think about it for now. We'll find out soon enough. Good luck : )
