mgcsinc: oh really? haha. thank then :P

My room is even bigger at 14x16 without the closest included. Some rooms are FAR smaller.

Is there anything we can do to get a big room? Which residence is the best in your opinions?

I personally love my room and wish I could live here next year. It's on the Catwalk in Keeney, is huge, and has a nice bay window. I do wish it had a sink though.

I actually think the catwalk rooms are smaller, but the bay window is a really sweet feature.

The only thing that can help you move your room around is health issues, which most of hte time just bring you to Keeney because it's across from the health center.

I am in Keeney, I think that's a great place to be freshman year. Easy to meet people and make friends. Always some parties going on with nearly entirely frosh around. The rooms are adequately sized on the medium->larger size of freshman dorms. It has one of the better locations (Littlefield, Wayland, and Hope may arguably be better).

Basically, it's where the largest collection of freshman are and while it's not stellar, I feel the benefits of living here have significantly changed how good my time has been so far. I also love my room and am dying I do at least as well int he housing lottery which there is a good chance I won't (shoot me if I get Grad Center'd).

Don't worry about it though, just let the randomness place you.

The catwalk rooms are smaller than the corner rooms, but far bigger than the normal rooms in Keeney. That is, as long as you use your space effectively.

Keeney is the best dorm, IMO, purely because of location.

i live in woolley, which is also connected to emery. and then you go downstairs and walk just a bit (underground) but it doesnt feel like it you get to the dining room (which has windows, and lots of em so dont think you are underground) and then u can walk into morriss and champlin is connected to it. so if it EVER freezes ****less, then well, you can visit a bunch of friends, meet new ones, and play some awesome games of hide and seek. oh, and i live really close to the gate. Umm, lets see... close to the OMAC(our gym) and it has pretty spacious rooms. mostly freshman, but some upperclassmen in singles. i think there are suites(not for freshman) in morriss and champlin. umm... i think this is a pretty decent place, and quiet too. but we know how to have fun. seriously.

If the Gate were where the IV room is, then Keeney would be so much better. Love the gate. Trekked all the way up to Pembroke just for a sandwich today.

I think you are nuts to go there in weather like today. Definitely not that good at all. Rather go to the burrito bar in the Ivy Room and get some Yoo Hoo.

I invite you to check out my non-corner room in Keeney and tell me the catwalk room is bigger. Bronson 411.

haha... i live in woolley 411... and 411 is also my birthday. i thought that was cool

Wait, I have a friend in Bronson 511 and his room is a former lounge that's been converted to a double and is ginormous. If that's like what you're talking about then I believe you probably have one of the biggest rooms on campus and I'm really jealous. On that note, the 3rd floor catwalk rooms are bigger than those on the 2nd, although one of my friends on the 2nd has her own bathroom.

Class of ten: what you can take away from this discussion that is probably not that useful to you is that your room size is completely unpredictable.

is there any way to influence the decision.....$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I wish I had a converted lounge, but no, I don't have that sweet room, which is definitely one of the best in Keeney (been there).

hmm... too much space and nothing ot fill it with. what really matters is what you do with it, cause its only a few extra feet. and chances are, we wont have a shortage problem next year, they will just allow more seniors ot live off-campus. so those lounges return to being lounges. now what you really want to pray to god for is a HANDICAPPED ROOM. MY GOD those are HUGE... bigger than all the lounges i have seen. im serious, they could be a triple, and very comfortably too. umm... perferably you dont want to ask God to cripple you, or that noone with a disability comes to Brown, just that you luck out and get a room. beautiful. and they are right by the elevator, so if you are ever in a drunken stuper,, its not far to get to your room...

Nope.. completely random choice...

P.S the rooms in Andrews are massive... or atleast massive compared to my cubicle in NP3.. But everyones randomely assigned so just pray..

P.P.S. Jo's over the gate?!!! hahahaha
