We are taking a college visit trip this spring. Some of the schools we'll look at are auditioned programs that from their websites say that they have official audition days on campus at various times of the year, and that otherwise students can send in videos. These are schools that do not go on the road.

Sending in a video seems like a scary chance to take, but we can't fly our D repeatedly for single auditions. How have people dealt with this? And when we visit the schools this March, is there something we can do to make an impression in person, in case the video is our only option next year? She'll have a couple of monologues ready and several songs are always at hand. Should she bring a picture? I feel like this is our big chance for them to remember her. I know some kids who have visited smaller theater programs, met with an admissions person and been asked to show them what they can do, on the spot. I almost hope these places will take that kind of interest in her, but she'd better be prepared if they do.
