On-Campus Interview Advice

<p>I will be doing the senior interview on campus at Yale. Any advice beforehand? What kinds of questions should I anticipate? How was your experience when you interviewed? Thanks!</p>

<p>I never had an interview, but college interviews are generally a laid back process. They’ll ask what your interests are, probably why Yale, and how you think you’ll contribute, etc. Nothing like “Top 3 dining halls in your opinion, 10 seconds, GO” haha. In most cases, the interview just confirms that you’re a good applicant.</p>

<p>It’s so relaxed you’ll not worry at all. Be enthusiastic, dress business casual (shirt and tie and kahkis for guys, equivalent for girls), and relax dude! The interview doesn’t make or break anyone. For example, I didn’t even get the “why Yale” question because it was just so implicit in the conversation. They pick excellent interviewers who are truly people. They want to see you, so show it to them.</p>

<p>It is the sticky thread at the top of the Yale forum here- the resources thread started by entomom and locked. There are links to a couple of threads with lots of experiences and specific questions that were asked. The one question that is asked frequently- what book have you read recently and tell me something about it.</p>
