On-Campus Interview

Has anyone had an interview on-campus? How was it? About how long was it? Ahhhh I’m so nervous!

I haven't yet but my interview is scheduled for the 8th of January. When is your's? ;-)

Please relax and enjoy your visit to campus and your interview. My d's was with a Senior who worked in admissions and was absolutely delightful and relaxing for her. She found it to be a chance to express her interests and to get to know what Barnard offered as well. She did end up there and LOVES it. Use this as an opportunity to find out all you can about this unique school, and for them to get to know you. Enjoy, ladies!

My interview is tomorrow! Thanks for the support.

You're probably already at your interview now! But, I took an interview at Barnard this past August. I had a recent graduate interview me on campus (in the basement, as they were doing construction). It was highly informative, and I enjoyed my visit. Oh, and the day I interviewed I also took a tour. And guess who else was among the 15 prospective students and their parents? Senator Joe Lieberman and his wife and daughter (now a HS senior too). It was pretty cool. Best of luck! The interview is very low-key and casual, much like a conversation.

Who was your interviewer, if you don't mind me asking?

Hey All,

I had an intervew a couple of weeks ago with a senior interviewer who worked in admissions. It was 25 minutes long, and there were really no surprises- they asked the typical fav. book/ political issue you care about/ go through your classes type questions. I came out of it feeling kind of upset though- I had really wanted the chance to connect with the interviewer, and make it more personal than the standard textbook interview...it was only until after when she walked me out, that we were able to laugh about the restaurants I had tried on my visits to campus...good luck!!!

are the on-campus interviews always students?

i had an alumni interview. i would have preferred to have a senior interview because i feel i would have been able to communicate easier with one, but it went well .. i was in there for about 40 or 45 minutes .. how long was everyone else in there ?

No, on-campus interviews might be students or they might be admissions officers (some alumni, some not). Just luck of the draw.
