Does that appear to be the approximate date when UDel will be releasing its decisions ? I recall that with some other (state) universities recently, they advise that they will release decisions "by" a certain date .....and then ended up releasing decisions anywhere from a week or two before that "by" date.

I think it will be march 10th like most schools but that’s still 18 days away.

anyone else getting anxious? i feel like no one ever posts on udel’s forum and it makes me sad lol it’s my top choice i want to see who else is excited/nervous about decisions coming out so soon!

and last year they came out sporadically from like march 10th-16th but most of them were on the 13th or so. i know there was a lot of confusion because some people’s decisions were released online and some weren’t so people were getting nervous. also apparently some departments call students specifically to tell them they got in but they’re random phone calls. i’m just so sick of waiting

I would think that they would have the techno capability to post the decisions on line at a given time so everyone could check at the same time. Then again, each college has their own method to their madness.

yeah i know that’s what i would think but i know they didn’t all go up at the same time last year. but given the confusion they might end up doing that this year…who knows.

I wonder if they really look over the mid year grades of ALL the applicants or only a select few ? If the former, that could account for the delay in releasing decisions.

my guess is that they have a group of people that are definite IN’s, despite mid-year reports, and then a group that’s like “in pending mid year reports” and then those are the ones they really look at. sometimes those things are the deciding factors, because then there’s the group that’s like deff rejected. such an annoying process

I pretty much concur with you… I think they have their own form of “triage”, and pick and choose who they want to do a final review on. Otherwise, they would be faced with re-evaluating tens of thousands of applications. I think a roll-in admission process, like UPitt, Penn St., is preferable. It slightly rewards kids who apply early and minimizes the waiting game. But I guess waiting another 3 weeks or so is not too bad.

My D is VERY anxiously waiting to hear from UDel. She’s got 5 acceptances and 1 deferral in hand, and dying to here from UDel. She wasn’t asked for a mid-year report…she applied in mid-October. This wait is really hard…

they don’t ask for mid-year reports, but they’re required. i called admissions and asked.

If I get in I will run a lap around my town naked and post the video on here.

Mid-year reports are required? Wonder if the GC automatically sends them. Putting on my list for Monday… hope she sent already (would be in D’s favor, that’s for sure).

LINY… UDel sends a list ( to each high school ) of the students who applied to UDel and requests their mid year grades. I would surmise that if you check with your D’s Guidance Counselor, she/he should be able to tell you that the grades were sent in already.

You think if I failed pre calc I have no chance?

soccer, depends on the rest of your stats. if you’re qualified otherwise then i doubt failing one class will ruin your shot but who knows. i just know they like to see an upward trend in grades.

MBJ i didn’t know they did that i kinda thought they just expected us to find out ourselves so i’m glad you told me that. i never would have known but people were starting to send mid-year reports so i decided to call and they said they are required.

if i get in i’ll throw myself a parade

MBJ - Thanks for that info. I will check anyway with the GC.

(Hi, samjillian, nice to see you again! We can have that parade together because D will be thrilled if she gets in!)

i’ll join you on that parade…waiting anxiously in new england !!! did not know that mid-year reports were required! will have to get that out this week and hopefully does not impact decision since they were not sent!!!

hi linymom! sounds great i used to be pretty confident about getting in but i’m getting a lot more nervous after hearing how many more applicants they received this year. i’m afraid i don’t stand out. oh well, the wait is almost over. and i’m sure if you send mid-year reports this week you will still be fine, jb.

Already heard back from the GC - mid-year reports were sent to all colleges (I guess they do that as a matter of course; I didn’t know since this is my first time around).

Fingers crossed. I have a couple of business trips in March; hope the letter comes while I am home.
