We are in high school, we are teenagers, and we want attention from the other sex. One way of achieving favor, especially for guys aiming at girls, is to complement the other on how pretty she looks. Females tend to be more vulnerable than their counterparts in succumbing to petty vanity, in my humble opinion. Now, picture yourself as a good-looking girl. A guy one day comments to you suddenly on AIM or CC during the middle of a conversation, that "you are hot".

What is the smart way to react?

1) Blush, type "thanks" and be nice to him for five minutes, and sound stupid.
2) Say "no duh" or "tell me something i don't know" and sound stupid.
3) Say "you too!!!!" and sound stupid.
FOUR) Respond with "stop saying that, I am average looking".

Logic dictates that the guy will start comforting you and convince you that you are beautiful. Logic also says that he will like you even more.

Same thing works for intelligence, talent, and whatever there is that's a quality of some sort. Prove me wrong.

As a female, I'm going to suggest replacing "hot" with something else, because it honestly sounds like you're going for sex. Beautiful/gorgeous/amazing all work, though.
