well, if it is like how its been theorized, then yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
except like 50 people have posted 1:16…i doubt duke is admitting such a larger percentage of applicants haha

2340/34/4.6W, 1:16

Can’t believe so many of you have been up all night obsessing over the time stamp. But then why did I check as soon as I got up this morning?

Some poor person in Duke admissions may be in hot water Monday morning for allowing the two time stamps to happen. Or what’s more likely, the Duke admissions staff will be ltao when they find out what’s been happening on this board.

BTW, my daughter has a 1:16p. Thank God. :-)

I have a 1:16, I think i must be the bottom end of the stats though. So a definite rejection.

■■■

it seems that more people on this forum (who have posted their time) have 1:16, but theres also the bias sampling factor on CC lol

Ok well I’ll go for it cause I have the weak stats so I can be your bottom 33% with a 1:16

ACT: 28(can’t remember breakdown)
SAT II: Math 630/ Physics 660 Bio M 640

International: UK ( not applying for aid)

No GPA and probably not ranked that great.

Good teacher recs.
Good essay.
Good extra curriculars.

Rejected Northwestern U chicago.

lol this thread is hilarious - esp. when I read that guy doing all those statistics tests
Here are my stats for those with too much time:
Time: 01:16
SAT I: 2150
SAT II: 2380
Location: Taiwan
ECA: [Yi-Chun (Eva) Teng](http://yichunteng.blogspot.com)
Got accepted into Stanford too.

The fact that more people have 01:16 worries me…

sat1 2200
sat2 2180
gpa 3.8ish
international, no aid

1:16 =)

Yeh it hit me earlier that it would make more sense if all the 1:16 people were rejections, as there is more of them. Maybe they mean nothing…

we have likely letter applicants who got 1:16s (look up) and as “daughter” alrdy sed on the first reply, it happened in ED, and this doesnt mean anything…

I’ll bite too:

5:35
2230 SAT, 730 & 770 SAT II
4.3 UW / 4.6 W
ehh ECs (horse rider)
good essays I think
letters of rec all good, counselor great

AHAHAHAHAHAH :D

um you nerds are so funny with all these theories (who am I talking…)
but yeah duke’s not stupid, they wouldn’t correlate the time stamp with decisions. they ARE stupid for letting the time stamp show though. whats the point??

People here on CC are amazing. The amount of clever ideas that have been put forward as a result of my casual musing is awesome. The statistical analysis (ok that was a bit creepy :)) is pretty cool. Guess in about 30 hours we will know for sure though. Please include your time on the acceptance thread?

I thought I would throw in my two cents.

I have no idea what it means, but, here are my stats.

30 ACT
Legacy
URM
Great essays/rec, also had an interview (which was so-so)

1:16.

Does anyone with a likely letter have the 5:00 time? If so, then there is obviously no connection since somebody with a likely letter posted that they had the 1:00 time.

So far all the people with likely letters have 1:16.

This thread represents everything wrong with CC… And I love it.

My last name begins with an “A”, and I’m a 5:35. eeek

My son is a 5:35
sat: 2270
applied to engineering
shoe size: 11. ;)

I’m the same as that, except my SAT was something like 2040 or so.

I think ellietom might have just proved my first theory. At least, it’s somewhat viable now :). However, I’m starting to think that the time stamp is meaningless…
