On the road to Columbia (help for undergrad school pick)

I moved back to the US after doing o lvls (highschool equivalent) from the university of cambridge. I first moved to GA and went to Georgia perimeter college. My plan was to full fill undergrad transfer requirements and move on to Georgia tech to do Bio medical engineering and from there straight to Emory MEd school. I had a lot of help making this track for myself but it all went down the drain as I now have to move to NY.

Ive completed 2 semesters (31 credits) at Georgia perimeter and will start Stonybrook in the fall. Sadly i didnt do enough checking into stonybrook because everyone i meet doesnt have anything good to say about the school except that its known for partying. Anyway im enrolled for stonybrook in the fall for 15 creidits and changed my major to biology with a biomed minor.

My ultimate goal is to finish premed and get into a v good school such as Columbia/NYU etc. (more toward columbia)

Is it possible for me to get into columbia after premed at stonybrook or should i look into getting into a better undergrad school to get accepted for columbia's med program.

If i do need to transfer to a better school please recommend some good ones in NY. I will be moving to bethpage in staten island and if the school is close to there it would be better but others are still appreciated.

My grades at the moment out of the 31 credits are A in all classes except B in english I. current gpa is 3.9

Thanks for your advice in advance

no one has any info?

Columbia Med is basically impossible to get into. As is transferring into Columbia.

But ultimately, your success in the undergrad years matters a lot more than where you complete them. Whatever that means to you is the best advice to take.

Well if it is impossible then i need to work harder. right? So what do i have to do?
Get a 3.9/4.0 gpa
Score really high on the mcat
What else??
Other than columbia does anyone know any other good schools in NY for med school.
By good i mean the ones whos students come out to THE TOP hospitals and start making loads of money.

I know doctors shouldnt be doctors just to make money thats but i also like the fact that its such a rewarding job. Saving lives, helping people, gettin them through hard times etc.. If i went business i would just worry bout margin and profits :D

There is a lot of advice about choosing med school or applying to med schools on this web site:

in the premedical foums section
