Ok. I am a high school freshman as of 6 days ago. I recently have come to the realization that I am not practically guaranteed admission to MIT or CalTech just because I perform the best at my non-competitive school. In fact, I am going to have to really step things up...and the odds are still low. Naturally, this scares the crap out me, and I am probably going to develop an ulcer or something if I don't relax. So I'm just going to try to get this out of my system, so I can spend more time self-studying AP psych and reading books, and less time browsing CC and college websites.

Prospective Major: nuclear engineering, through grad school (also, what would be my chances of grad school if I left after undergrad for marines?

If I do this, how I look to: Ivies, MIT, CalTech, Stanford, UF, UM Ann Harbour, UW Madison??
Also, I'll have about 60 college credits, so will I have to apply transfer, and will that hurt my chances?? I don't really mind retaking them, as long as I get into a Top 10 engineering...
Thank you so much!!
