About Union: the area it's in honestly isn't so great. It is on the line between the really nice and the run-down parts of Schenectady, right between Ellis Hospital and the nice houses that come with doctors and professors, and on the other side, a lot of apartment complexes. You probably wouldn't have to worry about weirdos creeping onto campus, though, because the security is reliable.

Union College itself has an attractive campus. The academics are known to be good, and there's usually something to do. I don't really know much about Union, just the area, and let me warn you...it gets cold up here between November and March. There is a ton of snow -- although for someone who lives in Florida, that might be exciting! Also, there are quite a lot of restaurants within a few miles of Union. It's honestly a great college if you can get past the area, which shouldn't be too dreadfully difficult. I can't gauge it for you, after all. :**)

Just a quick question, is it possible to get a weighted GPA more than 1 above your unweighted GPA?

Unweighted is a little low, weighted is high,

Extracurriculars seem a lot like a laundry list, but you have a lot and more is always better.

You're a match for all these colleges.

Sorry if I come off as overly critical, you have a lot of strong points, but i don't feel like mentioning them because you already know what they are right? Don't need to fix any unbroken windows.

i dont think UF will be that bad for you actually i think your in, other then that your in really good shape. also if you raise your act score im pretty sure you can get into william and mary i know someone that got a 30 and had everything like you and got in there

It seems like we have similar taste in colleges. =) Binghamton is my first choice, and I'll also be applying to Lafayette and Gettysburg and possibly New Paltz. I'd also be going with Tulane and American if I didn't want so badly to stay in the Northeast. Granted, I'll be applying a year after you, but...

Anyway, you're much more qualified than I am for these schools, so I'm hoping that you're in. Because if you're not, I'm going to community college.

haha thanks! And I know just how you feel about the whole "wanted to stay in the Northeast." Except for me its more like "wanting to be able to experience something more than a year round summer"...the reasons that propelled me away from the south for the most part.
And you're not going to community college..you sound like one of my friends haha. Its good you're looking into the whole college thing so early! I didn't even HEAR about Lafayette or Gettysburg until about a few months ago so you're ahead of the game dear! :)
