Well, this is it...All scores are in and now I've applied! So now I'm officially FREAKING OUT because there's NOTHING I CAN DO NOW. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry but you will probably be waitlisted. Knowing your rank would help because if your are in the top 10% you might have a chance. But start thinking about your 2nd choice.

Class rank is based on your high school, not overall applicants to UVa. If it was overall applicants to UVa, you would most certainly not be in the top 10%.

I am aware that I already have done a chance thread- sorry -I know it's annoying but I really like to hear others' opinions, and people here seem to always be able to respond. I thought I'd do one last one, just for the heck of it, updated with my ..interesting.. SAT II Scores.

Let me re-word my question- is it top 10% from my high school class, or top 10% from my high school class applying to UVA? Hope that makes sense.

I'll go talk to my counselor and see what he Estimated put for Class Rank- I really have no idea with such a big class

it's interesting that you made a username specifically for the purpose of telling me I am a bully.

To clarify: I am not a bully. I speak truthfully and frankly. Some people like what I say, some people don't. Sometimes that severely deflates people's ego and sometimes it bumps it up. Not everything in the world is coated in flowers and hot chocolate.

gangstur: Top 10% of your high school overall. Think about OOS applicants who are the only person applying to UVa from their school. We're in state, so it distorts our perception a little bit.

Haha oh dear.. I can honestly say that was not me; I am far too lazy to make another username and wouldn't call anyone on here a "bully" lol. Several of my friends and I talk/ joke about CC all the time, (and they know who I am on here) so I wouldn't be surprised if it were one of them having some fun.

But anyway..thanks for the advice! I understand the "10%" that everyone talks about much more clearly now.

db123 you are no more than a college confidential bully!

It might serve to remember that it takes a fair amount of time to respond to chances threads. ppl who take the time to do it are doing the op a solid. IMO all db did was remind the op of that.

yet i'm sure the responses would be much more helpful without condescending comments like

"I'm pretty sure you've already had a chances thread. Oh wait, you did."

I think the user would be fully aware that they already had another thread, and there's no need to put them down--if you don't like that they're posting again, it's your prerogative not to respond to the multiple post. And gangstur added much more information to her original thread including SAT II's which I'm sure would be helpful in estimating one's chances.

And I was not referring to your honesty in telling gangstur123 that she would not be in the top 10%, but the irrelevant personal comments you make about posting twice--it doesn't help anyone to point that out so stop acting like you own the Internet.

No offense, but db is right, and you're being rude. The addition of SAT IIs are not going to make much difference in a "chance", and these threads are useless anyways. Making multiple chance threads that have little difference between them is not constructive, and wastes time
