One more question from D

A school by which her application has already been received sent her a letter over two weeks ago saying that she would receive a pin number within "a couple of days." Since it's been over two weeks and no number has come (and they said it was very important), should she email the school and check if it was sent or just wait a while?

send an email, or call....things get lost...

I think she should e-mail or even call (if it is possible for her to call during business hours in the school's time zone).

Thanks very much. I thought that too, but I've become paralyzed now that most of the apps are out.

And if there is a time change, wake that child up early, put phone in her hand....I have done that...the three hour time change is difficult

I got essentially the same letter from Marquette a few years ago, and it took the thing a month to get to me. Call them, but I wouldn't be real worried about it.

"And if there is a time change, wake that child up early, put phone in her hand....I have done that...the three hour time change is difficult"

That made me laugh out loud. THankfully, the schools are all in our time zone. The only reason she is concerned is because this college requires receipt of all supplemental materials within two weeks of receipt of the application, which has passed, and we don't know the status of those materials. You may recall the "geezer counsellor" at my D's school. Things are just buckets of fun (not) at the school right now because of college stuff, so we legitimately don't know the status and the GC certainly won't tell. Arrrrrrgh!!!!!!

If it's not a school with rolling admissions (or even if it is), it may not have its stuff together yet. I'll bet many schools are not set up to process a lot of completed applications in September.

You really sent them out early! S still has much to do on his EA apps.

E-mail AND call. At this time of the year the admissions offices are on overload for e-mail. I would not just zap them a line and then figure the ball is in their court. Balls get dropped in this process.
