Prestige whore.

I agree with Blaakfire and Johnny K but the rest of this is nonsense! Get over it and stats are not everything compared to the entire admissions process. Bitter...

jennyanne:

As long as you did not apply and get into HYPMS, you can't say with certainty that you would have been accepted. Last year, Harvard rejected a Siemens+ISTS prizewinner who had research in astrophysics (ring any bells?)

OK GUYS YOU WIN!!! As of tomorrow, I'm withdrawing my applications from every university I applied to besides the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Apparently there's no sense in applying to Harvard or Yale anymore for anyone interested in business like I am. I MEAN ****** HARRRVVVAARRD?? What will Goldman Sachs and Citigroup think of me? AUTOMATIC REJECT.

Why would anyone pass up the chance to converse with intelligent folk like Johnny K, BLAAKFIRE1015, jennyanne89, sristi, etc. who always make logical arguments right? I'm sure jenny can tell me all about her national award-winning astrophysics research, while showing off her incredible social grace I'm sure, and maybe BLAAKFIRE1015 can translate all that science jargon she tells me about, since I'm surely too inferior to understand, with his amazing ability to speak coherent English and not swear every three words as shown by his last post. Better yet! Even if we all find ourselves in an awkward position at a party with nothing to talk about, JohnnyK and sristi can start up a discussion about how much Penn pw3ns HYPS. That's something we can all agree upon!

Ben Franklin would be proud.

I think my computer is broken. It says evil asian dictator but i think its supposed to be retarded asian dictator.

well since evilasiandictator would never actually concede defeat, a dearth of rebuttals ensconced in sarcastic "admission" of defeat is as good as we are going to get.

Have fun at Harvard, champ.

Well several of my friends in both Wharton and CAS (and several friends who were admitted but chose neither) agree that CAS isn't all that great, especially compared to Wharton.

Read this article AND the comments from Wharton alumni underneath: http://media.www.dailypennsylvanian.com/media/storage/paper882/news/2005/04/27/Opinion/Look-Before.You.Leap-2148060.shtml?sourcedomain=www.dailypennsylvanian.com&MIIHost=media.collegepublisher.com

Mallomar's friends are stupid, absolutely wrong, and probably fat as well.

Anyway, here is the good comment swiped from the DP. I write for the DP so I reserve the right to cite other work on it.

*I cannot tell you how correct I think Cezary is. I came into Penn thinking I would be pre-med and I absolutely hated it. So, my parents advised me to do the "practical" thing and transfer to Wharton. I took OPIM (then called Decision Sciences), Accounting 101 and 102, Stat 101 and 102, and Corp. Fin. I absolutely, positively despised every second of every class. I slaved away and got As and Bs in every class, but I just could not imagine spending the next 3 years hating my college experience. So I stayed in the College and majored in Japanese and Econ. I spent my remaining days at Penn very happily. Ironically, I ended up on Wall Street in a front office analyst program and today manage institutional junk bond portfolios. The point is that no career path is closed to you just because you don't go to Wharton. You may need to work a little harder, but enjoying your time in college is so much more important. Most of my Wharton friends admit that if they could do it all over again they would have studied something else as an undergrad. You only get to go to college once, so spend your time studying something that interests you and have fun too. If that happens to be fixed income analytics and managerial accounting, then Wharton is your ticket. If not, find something else, even if you can't brag to people about having a Wharton degree. *

Um, since when was it a crime to have an opinion? I doubt my two Huntsman friends are "stupid" and the other friend I was referring to is a pre-med, so he isn't exactly "dumb" either. I'm sorry that their opinions do not support your agenda.

So there are 10,000 undergrads, and you've spoken to three. Uh...OK.

I just said "several of my friends agree __." Don't get so worked up, please.

Everyone has the right to an opinion, but the rest of us have the right to lay waste to that opinion should it be as fallacious as yours is.

Have fun at Harvard, champ.
Obviously since you can't respond to my satirical post in any manner whatsoever, Johnny, it's clear that it's you that just conceded defeat.

Have fun being taught by rapists and murderers at Penn CAS.

Funny thing is, those three undergrads are probably smarter than most of those 10,000 undergrads combined as a result of sheer association with MallomarCookie.;)

I'm still waiting for this bombastic reply of yours chump.

haha thanks yall, but seriously, can we calm down? i mean, we all know penn state is a GREAT school so we should just stop arguing about random peoples opinions ok?

hahaha
just kidding

i agree that penn state is a good school but sadly, EAD and cookie, you guys don't think you deserve penn state. i think you are correct when you make that judgment. penn deserves much more nicer people than you. people who actually have a life. people who don't go on the boards of random universities and say that their programs suck to just get a little bit of entertainment.

And EAD, I saw your chances thread.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=289003

now guys, tell us if he too good for Penn CAS.

I was jokingly referring to Penn as "Penn State." I wasn't actually referring to Penn State.

And I don't think EAD sucks enough to merit your sarcasm, even if he's not a prodigy. Sheesh, all I did was tell you what I had heard, and everyone got so defensive and angry. I never even said I agreed with my friends. I just said "Well, this is what I heard," not "This is the final truth!!!"

EAD is applying to one business program. Why not just apply to CAS? If you get an econ degree and work your ass off, you could find a better job than some of your classmates at Wharton. Remember, econ is different from business. Also, talk about a top heavy list for a prestige whore ;)
