Does anyone know when the online application for financial aid will be available? In my acceptance letter, it said that it could be found at http://admission.case.edu/admissions/finaid/instructions.asp . I have tried the page for over a week, and everytime, it says "Our online financial aid application will be available very soon; please check this page for updates.". Exactly when is "very soon"? :)

I don't know if we did the right thing or not, but we ignored it (the link you speak of) simply sending them the CSS profile instead. So far, I have not heard that we did the wrong thing. Although the site doesn't state to send the CSS, I emailed twice and got a reply that it was ok to. HOpefully, that along with the FAFSA will be enough. I think their website is behind as we still can't log on with our son's user information.

I called them up yesterday, and they said that they don't really want the CSS profile, since their website's financial aid application will have the same thing, and will save you the extra $18. They also said an email to the accepted students will be sent when the site's application is up (The lady said in roughtly 2 weeks). I asked her how closely their Financial Aide Estimater was to the actual package, and she said she wasn't exactly sure. Does anyone know?

My mom also called Case, and they said that they don't need the CSS Profile. They said that the only thing they really look at is the FASFA. jediknight, I don't know how close it is.

Well, this is confusing :~~ We all got answers from Case that were just a little bit different. I'm hoping they accept my CSS, not only since we paid the $18 already, but it was so convenient to not have to fill out yet ANOTHER financial form after having the FAFSA and CSS done anyway.

mominin:
Did you get my private message?

weenie, No, sorry...this time I did not. I'll give it a little more time and maybe it will come through?

mominin:
SORRY! I'm being spacey -- I see it was for someone else! (I'm losing my mind I think.)

THat's ok, lol. I think a lot of us are losing it with this financial stuff!

Hmm, is anyone getting an error message when trying to access the online finaid form, or is it just me? I was able to get on a couple of days back, but today, just can't.

Sunday morning here, I just logged in successfully. However, I did get an error message something about "invalid certificate" and that is the first time I have seen that. Only a guess, but perhaps they need to update their cert. and that is why your browser won't let you in??

it's still not working at all for me
it allows me to log on and start but like the second page says "page not found" its very not cool

Finally up :D

I was afraid it was just me who thinks Case's finaid site is really hard to use. I did the FAFSA and sent the PROFILE to them, and hopefully that's enough.

ThinkDifferent: If you did the FAFSA and the PROFILE a while ago, you should be able to access your financial aid online at https://finaid.case.edu/CWRUfas.aspx?Menu&Office=CWRUfas&Level=0
At least that is what I have bookmarked. They will prompt you to answer just a few more questions (about 3 minutes worth) and then on the final page it will give your guestimate (provisional award) for financial aid. We were pleasantly surprised :) Now if you just submitted those papers, I imagine you will have to wait a bit longer.
