I did all three of mine with CTY Johns Hopkins’ online program. For Physics B (which I took this year), I can’t say that the online material does much because after a certain point I was reading it all from a textbook anyway, but the instructor was amazing and very helpful.

I have taken classes through CTY and GLL (Northwestern). Both were total wastes of time. Pretty much all you do is read from a textbook and answer questions, however because it’s a “course” you lack the flexibility of true self-study, and have to deal with annoying emails from instructors asking you to do assignments and write essays on topics you already have mastered and do not need to review. I have been told that FLVs is better, but I haven’t seen any reason to believe so.

Stanford EPGY was great for my D for Physics B. It’s a little harder than the AP Physics B and covers a few additional topics. She got a 5 and an 800 on the SAT II taken just before the AP exam. They were both easy compared to EPGY exams.

sino and wintercrest, which classes did you take?

edit: any further comments on physics B or AP Calculus(AB OR BC) would be appreciated

Bump for interest. I’m considering self-studying several APs, but I’m wondering if there are any particular subjects worth taking an online class for.

My daughter is scheduled to take AP Chem online (not offered at her school) through ChemAdvantage. I have read great reviews and will post next year when we can give concrete advise. It includes a lab kit which is important for college credit.
