Hey everyone! Next year I’m interested in taking 3 AP classes/exams that I cannot take at my school due to scheduling reasons. I’m looking at taking AP European History, AP Statistics, and AP Art History. Which website would be the best to use for each class? I’ve heard good things about CTYOnline for stats, and that Khan Academy has good resources for art history, but I was wondering if there are any other programs. If you suggest a program, how much time did it take you, and would I be able to do it self paced over the summer/school year, or would I have to complete it all over a specific time period? Also, what would be the best AP prep books to buy once the exams grow near? Thank you!
Hi! I self-studied AP Euro this year, and here’s what I used:
Crash Course (read it n times the week of the exam)
Tom Richey’s Youtube videos
5 Steps (great) and Kaplan (somewhat less helpful)
A bunch of practice exams/questions online - this site is great (http://www.historyteacher.net/APEuroCourse/EHAPQuizMainPage.htm)
I didn’t use a textbook, so I’m not sure how much more value it would’ve added. One thing about self-studying Euro though, is to hold those essay rubrics (especially the DBQ) close to your heart, and if you can find a history teacher to look over essays for you, lucky you!
Good luck!
