online classes for apps

hello does anyone know if online classes look bad for college admission?
Like what if i take AP english or a core AP class online senior year??
I dont mean on top of the required classes, but as part of the regular schedule.

Like does it look worse than if one took it in a regular class?

I don't think it would look worse. Actually, I think online classes would look good on your transcript. It shows that you're versatile and can learn independently, since online classes require you to basically teach yourself.

In some instances, it can be seen as - you went out of your way to take a class that your school may not offer, or that your school is weak in.

The question is: why are you going to take the AP class online instead of part of the regular schedule? If it's because your school does not offer the course, that explanation alone will show that you are a motivated student. A good explanation is all that's needed. I doubt colleges will look at online classes as "bad" (in my district, the online classes are supposedly a lot harder than regular so...).

why would that be a bad thing?

I'm going to be taking AP English Lang online too. I don't like the teacher at my school, and she has had low passing rates. Online courses come easy to me and I think I could do better on the AP exam if I take the class online rather than at my school.

bump, ud think college admission officers would look at it less than not online if thats one of the few AP s taken senior yr?

absolutely not. online courses show that you're motivated and you care about your academic preparation for college. I don't see how they can hurt, assuming you do well.

bump bump bump
