Online Payment + Deadline

Thanks! I successfully submitted for Williams.

Have a nice weekend!

ivyaspire, what browser are you using? My S had trouble using Firefox, but everything worked when he switched to Internet Explorer.

It may also be that the server is busy. If so, just wait and try again.

You can also contact the Common App people and ask them to upload your essay for you, I think.

When I had problems uploading an essay, I logged off and relogged back in and I could submit sucessfully. Try and see if that works

Yesterday I successfully submitted my payment to Bowdoin but when I go to payment it says “Not Submitted”. I did received a confirmation email but I did not print the receipt. And I cannot even go to the receipt now because it says “Not Submitted” for payment.

In the confirmation email it only tells the date or submission, the amount, and a confimation number. The name of the college is not mentioned anywhere. What can I do with that confimation number?

i went with the “other” option now Northwestern already downloaded it! What now? They freaking downloaded the fee waiver instead of my actual payment!!!

@ivyaspire: convert it to pdf form, it’s universal and it should work, if not, use a different browser/reboot computer. if you don’t have a pdf converter, download a converter here

[CutePDF Writer - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com](Apps for multimedia - CNET Download)

and while downloading, they ask you if you want to download a converter, click yes. and after it finishes downloading, go print your doc, but change your printer to cute pdf. they don’t actually print your doc, but it just pops up asking you where you want to save your pdf file. and you could have the same file name under two different file types. i hope that helps!

So Wake Forest doesn’t have an “other fee waiver” or “mail check” but it has the same incorrect “not submitted” reading. Should I leave it blank or select like the college board fee waiver?

^ Leave it blank. Wake forest does not have a policy that requires payment before submitting the actual application

Thanks, I literally got a tech support email a minute ago saying just to let it update

what is this “other” waiver that everyone is talking about? i’m trying to submit for JHU but the only waivers i see are the College Board and NACAC ones.

i see the “other” waiver option for other colleges, but there is none for JHU. the paying with a mailed-in-check is also not an option. which waiver do i use? please and thank you!!

The waiver thing is only for colleges that require the payment before you turn in the actual common app. JHU doesnt require that so you can just leave the payment thing alone.

thank you DKB987! :D

how do you know if a school requires payment before you can submitt it?

if I was able to submit the application, then surely the school does not have this policy right?

also, whats the low-down on this effective date jan 4 woog boog?

Yeah, common app will notify you if the school requires payment. Literally, it will say ____ school requires that you submit payment/supplement before submitting the common application. Also, if the school requires it, then on the future plans tab, it will say so

If you could submit it normally, then its fine.

so then, is there a deadline for the payment?

like is the “effective date” of jan 4 alright or will it be too late?

bump >>>>

Is there a deadline to submit the payment by or just the Common Application and Supplement? I submitted by common application and supplement by the 11:59:59 EST deadline for my school and I plan to mail the payment tomorrow.

Btw, I tried to change my mail payment option to a credit card option but common app wouldn’t let me, anyone else experiencing this problem?

@ polymorphism - i’m not sure. but if the app & the supp say downloaded, then don’t worry…i think the school has the application so sending the payment later won’t really matter.

thanks kryshel. That’s what I figured but it’s good to have some reassurance.

no problem. i was freaking out about the same thing, but i submitted my payment via credit card & it still says not submitted, but i too had someone reassure me about it. and i read every inch of common app. aha
