I am a senior and have physics and chemistry. I was sick and in hospital at the end of junior year and had to withdraw from school so i have an incomplete in biology (did all the work through March). How important is it for me to finish bio? Could I explain the circumstances and write the topics I did cover? I am much more interested in humanities and would prefer not to have to take science senior year.

You need to look at the requirement for each schools. Some only require 2 years of lab sciences and then you should fine.

It really depends on how selective the schools are where you are going to apply. Even schools that only require 2 years often your competition will have 3. How strong is the rest of your transcripts and profile? Do you have the opportunity to do Bio? It should be easy at first, having covered a portion. For selective schools, it doesn’t matter what your intended major is.

I think that if you could complete the work for biology for credit it would be best. If you finished through March, you only have a quarter left. Could you work something out with the counselor/teacher. Do you have 3 sciences (1 not lab)?

I agree with BrownParent that some of the answer is dependent on where you are applying.
