Ok so, quick question. I have 3.9 GPA, TAP, applied Psych to UCLA, Cal etc etc.

But I had surgery this week which kinda screwed up this semester. For 3 classes I just need to take finals, but the other 2 I'm supposed to do like presentations and already missed too much classwork.

These 2 teachers are understanding & offered Incomplete grades. So what are the rules, and how does this look for UCs? Is there a place to explain my situation for INCs in the grade updates in January? Then make up the INCs later in Spring? Or should I get W's for this semester, clear them bc of medical reasons, and just start over next sem.

I basically have all my pre-reqs done for Psych (just need Philosophy) & these classes are just to complete IGETC. Let's just say, how anal would the UCs be on admission if I didn't complete IGETC bc of 2 classes (one is a language)???

Thanks for the input!

Sorry to hear about your situation!

But, I’m pretty sure the UC’s are somewhat anal about the IGETC. will you still have 60 units without those two classes?

If you can get W’s and then get them cleared from your record, I think that would be your best bet.

Good luck!

Will you still have 60 units done? A counselor told me that you don’t have to complete IGETC, it just means you’ll have additional lower division work (about a quarter’s worth, he said) once you get to the UC.

Take the Incompletes- they won’t hurt you at grade review as long as you have sent in an explanation to admissions and can finish your work before transferring.

Yes I will have 60 units thats no issue.

Hidingout, when we submit our January updates for grades, is there an area to explain the INC? Where do I send in an explaination?

I’m planning on finishing the classes asap, but I’m wondering how this affects my UC chances??
