OOS applicant

Do OOS applicants have lower or higher required EIs?

There is no EI threshold specific for OOS applicants. In my experience, SDSU accepts OOS applicants with slightly lower EI’s than in-state applicants but that is mainly due to the lower # of OOS applicants from which to choose and also major dependent.

SDSU’s first priority is local in-state applicants but OOS applicants offer the school the extra $$$ revenue stream needed.

To be competitive, you should target the average campus EI of 4459 for 2019.

Also want to clarify that as an OOS applicant, there is a higher minimum EI threshold to be eligible to apply to any Cal State but beyond the minimum, it is campus dependent.

SDSU is one of the most competitive campuses except Cal Poly SLO due to the # of applicants and average admitted stats. Targeting the average campus GPA of 3.97, SAT of 1264 and ACT of 27 as an OOS applicant will help your chances.

If admitted you will be full pay.

As stated by @TomSrOfBoston: OOS applicants will receive little to no financial aid from the Cal states beyond the Federal aid if you qualify.

Expect to pay $42,00+ at present.
