Essays:
Heard from several revisers that my UMich essays were pretty convincing (especially the “Why UMich” essay). 8/10
Ross essays were tough, solid ideas but not sure if they are able to demonstrate business passion because of how vague the prompts are. 7/10

Extra important info:
-Extremely high interest in Ross/UofM, since I visited the Ross Undergraduate Admissions Office in person
-Some other kid from my school is also applying to Ross but he is DECA regional VP. Albeit worse stats and grades relative to me however. Not sure how much this decreases my chances by :frowning:
-Only three other LSA applicants from my school but they’re all pretty strong, my school historically only accepts 2-4 kids a year :frowning:

Thanks for taking the time to read this! I really really really want to go Ross and I hope that my love for UofM can project in my supps. Any advice would be appreciated

(PS does anyone know how the recent deferral notification received by alums will impact Ross applicants for LSA early action?)

I am from NJ (private school) and now a freshman at UMich and will likely declare an Economics major and then will apply for a business minor in Accounting. I did not get into Ross and from what I have learned from other students both in Ross and those who did not get in… they are looking for an all around diverse group, who show exceptional creativity of thought and ideas and/or who have demonstrated exceptional leadership (Ross Essay’s very important to show this side of you). There are students in Ross who are from creative backgrounds like film/music/drama and not just students who come from your traditional tracts. I have been to the career center and I am confident I will be able to go after the same jobs without an undergraduate “business degree” and many wall street firms (if that is what interests you) truly hire all types of majors, Engineering, Economics and other liberal arts majors. If you look at the courses required for a Ross degree you will find that the majority of credits needed for the degree comes from LSA!! So don’t rule out an Economics tract with a Ross minor should you not get into Ross!

You have a great resume and certainly have a strong shot for Ross, but I do think it will come down to if you have shown creativity of thought within your application essays. Good luck and Go Blue!!
