Get your SAT higher.

These are 2007 #'s since the 2008 numbers are not out yet.

UF enrolled 6,441 freshmen in 2007's class.
UF is 95% in-state and only 5% out of state.

If those numbers hold true for the enrolled class that leaves:

ONLY 322 slots open for out of state students!

The SAT numbers for that 2007 enrolled class were:
Bottom 25%- 1140
Upper 75%- 1360

Middle 50% 1293 (per UF's admissions office 2008 class release)

IMHO unless you are a recruited athlete or the child of a big time donor ( URM would not help out of state) you will have little to no chance of getting in unless your SAT is closer to the 75% /1360 number than the 50% /1293 number.

Again you are applying for 1 of only 322 spots!

Oct. sat scores
660 math
650 writing
630 critical reading

At 1290 CR + M you fall into the 50% admitted ranges from last year.

IMHO if UF is trying to improve it's USNWR rankings then you are hit on 1 of the 2 major selectivity measures.

1- Top 10% HS Class worth 6% of the total USNWR score. Good for your chances.

2- SAT Score worth 7.5% of the total USNWR score. Maybe OK for your chances.

By UF accepting you they would pick up the 6% for the top 10%, your SAT however still leaves you in the middle of the pack.

Since you are out of state I believe you need to be closer to the 75% rather than at the 50%.

If you bumped up your score to the 1370 mark I would give you a 75% chance. Till then I'd say 50%.
