I already got in UMD Honors College and into UNC so what do you think?

bump. Also got into Carnegie Mellon (recruited athlete though), but it shows that I am committed to athletics and have leadership on my club teams

After getting into UNC I thought I had a really great chance. However I thought my SAT Lit score would hurt and my semi-ok essay would hurt. So I don’t think I’ll get in, but I also just say that to myself and anyone who asks so that I’m not set up for disappointment

You’d rather go to UVA than Carnegie Mellon for Engineering, even though CM recruited you as an athlete?-which means you are likely to recieve $$ from CM. Curious, why the interest in UVA? UM Honors and UNC are great schools as well. UVA may accept you as your academics seem on par with other admitted students, but as you are OOS so it may hinge on their need/desire to recruit more athletes with your skills.

I’d say you definitely have a good chance! But Maryland is probably where a lot of the out of staters come from, so competition there is probably higher there than anywhere else.
