OOS Students - do siblings have a chance to get in?

We are OOS - my S is current a third year student at UVa. UVa is the first choice for our other child. His stats and EC's are about the same as his older brother.

Question directed to Dean J, but other opinions gladly welcome: I know siblings don't count as legacies, but, especially for an OOS Student, does it help (or hurt) that his brother is a current student? His brother is very active at UVa, by the way.

Thanks in advance.

Unless there's somewhere to put it on the app (which I don't remember there being), how would the admissions committee know??

Good point - I guess I would like to know if it helps to put it on the app

There's nothing formal that will help your younger son get in and I can't imagine that the sibling relationship would be a tremendous boost, but I think it would be a nice thing to mention on the application somewhere.
