Quick question: my brother attends UVA. Will that make me a legacy? Or is legacy status limited to sons/daughters/grandsons etc. ?

I am in the same situation and I am almost positive that it doesn't. From the information I have gathered, it may still help a LITTLE bit.

i don't think it does.

agreed, jlamp~ it doesn't hurt, but you still need to be heavily qualified.

Legacies are the children of alumni. Having siblings, gandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and other relatives with UVa degrees will not make you a legacy.

Hope that helps!

Dean J, you may have answered something like this previously, but how much does having a sibling who attends/attended help? My brother will be a sophomore when I apply next year. I don't know if this would change things or not but he has done well/very well academically and is on the baseball team. Hopefully you can help. Thanks.
