How much does having a brother who went to UVA help my chances of getting in?
I'm thinking of applying early decision next year and I live in Northern Virginia.
My grades and stuff are good but nothing spectacular.
Thanks for any comments.

it helps.....

Can't say about UVA in particular, but having a sibling in the school gives you legacy status in a lot of colleges.

it might help, not too sure though. and I hear a lot of out of state people say that UVA is easier on its in state kids... but since you're nova (like me) they'll be pretty harsh on you =\ what school do you go to?

Chantilly.

I have another question. Does anyone know if it's advisable to take five ap classes in one year? I'm taking three right now and it's not too bad. I'm def taking 4 next year, but would five be too much?

Thanks

^^benjamin....dont hijack the post!!

You'll probably want a 3.9 and decent ECs, coming from NoVa. I'm in NoVa as well, and this is what my GC (who's pretty knowledgable) tells us.
