I tried to register today around the time my registration period opened but when I register for a couple of my classes it says, "Open, but no spaces today". I checked the time schedule and it still shows open spots but the classes are apparently closed for the day. Can I get a explanation on why this is?

Thanks.

They try to give some opportunity to all students (even last day freshmen) to get into classes.
So there’s a quota for each class, per day on how many slots should be open. Try again tomorrow morning to get into that class, or keep checking back during the day to see if anyone drops it.

Good luck on getting your class! (Unless it’s the class I want of course since I register tomorrow morning)

know the class code, log in at 5:55 am tomorrow (not 6) and you should be able to add it. i had this problem with eng 131, if you had the same problem as I had, you can’t be picky with which section you want or all the available spots for the day will be full once you decide (this happened to me 3 times in a row last winter and stupid me never learned from it).

So I was able to get into 2/3 classes. I couldn’t get into math126D (only time that didn’t conflict with my other classes). I ended up getting phys121 (which is okay I guess… it goes toward my major) but wasn’t there a rule that says that a person taking a particular series has priority over a person that didn’t take the previous class last quarter. (ex. a person that took math125 in the fall has priority in math126 over a person who did not take math125 in the fall)

Keep checking on Math 126. Remember that if people don’t pass Math 125 with a satisfactory grade, they are forced to drop Math 126 in their Winter schedule.

As for the rule… I don’t know :/

UDubHopeful, did you end up getting Math 126? If you didn’t there’s always a few option:
-petition for overload
-check the time schedule 24/7 for any openings. my friend got into math 126 at 2am yesterday.
-decide on other classes (probably not the best if you’re doing a series)
-wait for the end of the quarter when some Math 125 people do NOT pass the course and are forced to drop the class.

I didn’t get in and they won’t give any add codes so I guess I’ll just take Phys121 and take Math126 later then… It’s okay I guess because I still need to take Physics anyways to complete my requirements. Hopefully I will still remember Calc stuff in the Spring or Summer.

Okay! You can always just keep checking back in case the time schedule opens up a spot for Math 126, but it sounds like you have a plan!
