I’m a Junior in High School right now, and I’m really contemplating my options for college as my goal is to become a Music Ed teacher. I know that there’s no Music Ed major for Manhattan School of Music, but this Dual Degree Performance/Ed program has been the reason I’ve been keeping my eye on the school. Can anyone who is either in the program or completed the program give some feedback on how positive of an experience it was, or how negative it was?
If you are a junior in high school, I’d say it’s far too early for you to focus on a specific graduate school/program. Your needs are going to change so much between now and the end of college.
Not that it hurts to get some personal stories from people who may have attended that program, although it would probably be more fruitful to reach out to the school directly and ask if they can refer you to some current students who are willing to answer a few questions via email for an eager HS student. Just try not to get too fixated.
