Opinions on Miss America/Miss Universe Pageants?

Do you watch them? What do you think?

The girls are stupid, but cute.

Like, such as. This isn’t my professional opinion, it’s my personal opinion.

[YouTube - Miss teen America Word by word Break down LOL](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube)

and everywhere like such as, the iraq and the asian countries… and don’t forget south africa

I think they are dreadfully boring to watch and my from perspective, it’s not a huge title to hold either. There are millions of more intelligent, interesting, and beautiful women that wouldn’t think twice about pageantry.

I agree with futurexecutive. Aspiring to be the most “beautiful” woman in the universe is nothing to be proud of. If you think about how much they have to concentrate on watching their weight or how their hair looks like, that’s almost the opposite definition of beauty. Going into that field almost immediately disqualifies you from being considered as a person, more of an item that people judge based on looks.

Oh my God, Miss Nebraska won. I hate that state. And I hated her hair. I only watched it because my father was watching it, AND it was trending on Twitter (how???). I think pageants are really stupid and pointless, because they try to portray these women and girls as the most perfect specimens of the female gender when they’re really just a bunch of bimbos. But I do have this sick fantasy of dressing up my four year old sister like those doll-like girls on Toddlers In Tiaras. Heh.

Its ridiculous. If you think your beautiful why do you put ten pounds of make-up on?

They’re ridiculous and kind of sad.

And, now that I think of it, pretty sexist–is there a male version?

And I don’t really watch them, but how many black or asian girls have you ever seen in pageants? Though that may just be that those populations self-select not to be in pageants…

I guess for those women who are REALLY dumb but also care about how they look and are decently attractive, it could be a nice thing for them?

^ Yeah there is a male version of Miss Universe. Its called Mr. Universe But its for bodybuilders.

I personally think that pageanters wear too much makeup and spray tan. It kind of looks weird.

HOT. 10char

Poor Ms. Teen South Carolina…

She was confused, because everyone that she knew actually knows where the US is on the map. Same here.

But whatever.

One of the girls in my city at Girls State is one of those pageant types… I never understood it, though it can do a lot for your career if you win Miss America.

i don’t watch them, but i don’t hate them.

honestly what’s the difference between obsessing over your weight and hair and obsessing over your grades and GPA?

being miss nebraska will probably get you as far as going to a name brand school, although they will probably take you different places. it makes me mad that people hate on **** like this. it’s so pretentious.

Oh. Actually now that I’m thinking about Ms. Teen South Carolina… My friend who’s in pageantry and everything, she placed like third this year… Anyways, she actually knows her and said that she isn’t very bright at all.

=/

But look where former Ms. America’s are now. One’s on Desperate Housewives (gotta love her!), one’s on CBN, one’s on Fox News, and the list goes on and on.

“Recent polls have shown that 1/5 of Americans cannot locate the U.S. on the map. Why do you think this is?”

“Because 1/5 of Americans are stupid”

^That’s not the sort of thing you can say if you want to win a pageant.

Hahaha ravenclaw. Why do you hate Nebraska? Hahaha I feel like Nebraska is such a neutral place, that’s like going around saying you hate chairs. Just… why.

^^ Points for originality and honesty.

Miss Massachusetts was super short but is a smart cookie
