<p>"Is deception ever justified? plan and write an essay.....blah blah"</p>

<p>Is deception justified ? In my opinion there is no straightforward answer to this question. As I believe, deception can only be justified when it is being used for a very crucial situation in your life or for the benefit of someone else.
A great example for this is a scene from the movie ‘saving private Ryan’. When the allied troops catch a german soldier, they plan to execute him. The german soldier, fearing death, insults Hitler and the Nazi party to show the allied troops that he is on their side. It works and they let him go. In this case, he survived because he lied. As stated above, deception can also be justified if it used for the benefit of another person. For my last birthday, I wanted a guitar. But what I got from my parents was a bass guitar. I was let down but nevertheless I acted happy and told them that it was what I actually wanted, so they wouldn’t feel bad.
As always, there is a ‘however’. If deception is used selfishly for ones’ own good or to harm someone, it is definitely not justified. A con artist is a good example for this. Back in my old country, Sri lanka, there was a Con artist who acted as a professional businessman. He set up a fraud business allowing people to deposit their money very cheaply. After he had many clients with huge amounts of deposit in his firm, he stole all the money and disappeared. The people who deposited their money in the firm lost all their money and as a result some of them were reduced from riches to rags. This is a very clear example of when deception is not justified.
As presented in the essay above, deception can be a good thing and it can also be bad thing. The Justification of deceit entirely depends on why, how and when one would use it.</p>
