Okay guys and girls, the question is, "Is honesty ever justified" Please give me your honest opinion on it.

Honesty is very important in life. You let the person know how you really feel about the situation at hand. Deception, however has it's benefits too. It temporarily soothes the situation and gives that person a fallacious idea. People always say, "Honesty is the best policy," which is always true. The lies will always surface no matter how badly you want to hide them. Deception is never justified.

During World war 2, the "prisoner" camps used by the Germans were thought to be for POW's. The Germans themselves have ensured that prisoners would be treated fairly, and no harm would come to them. When the war was over, the true horror of that lie surfaced. The prison camps were in facts, death camps. Thousands upon thousands of bodies were found dead. Mutilated, grotesque, and odorous corpses piled high. Was the deception by the Germans justified? was it worth the deaths of millions? The answer is no. One white lie was the causes of the greatest massacre in history known as the Holocaust.

On a less serious note, a friend of min cheated on a math test back in middle school. When the teacher asked about it, my friend simply said he had not cheated buy simply studied really hard. The teacher was was too smart for my friend made two tests that day. My friend copied the right answers, but for the wrong version of the test. The following day, my friend received a 0 for the test, a honor code violation, and an unpleasant trip to the principal's office. My friend or ex friend after that never could take a honors math course again. Cheating and lying is not justified in this case. The sever punishment he received was not worth the deception. No one benefited and only suffering ensued.

As shown above, deception is never justified for any reasons. The German's deception in World War 2 resulted in the Holocaust or death of millions of Jews and other "less inferior" races. The white lie my friend told resulted in embarrassment, suffering, and shame. No matter how big or small the lie; always speak the truth. Honesty is the best policy and will carry you very far in life.
