well, i am interested in a neuroscience major. i want to pursue a medical career. mmm... i have a friend who has the same interests and got accepted by both USC and UC berkley, yet she chose to attend berkely.
i am going to ask her, but currently i am unable to... so could you guys give an explanation that deals with the science programs offered at the schools?

thanks

Do you know what your weighted GPA is?

I think you have a pretty good chance. You could retake the SAT1 to see if you can pull up that CR score. They superscore all your tests so that you have the highest composite score possible. I raised my CR score from a 620 to a 750. All I did was sit on my but for 6 months and took it in January. lol... You show depth in your ECs, which is good. Nice SAT2 scores. Be sure to write a kick a$$ essay. I think you have a good chance of being accepted.

To the original poster, I think you are very competitive for admission to USC! Statistically, your unweighted GPA should be average to above average by the time you apply. Best of luck to you!

thanks guys.
btw.. to calculate my weighted gpa, i count my freshman year, right? or is this like the UC's?

Yes... you count your freshman year.

Can someone tell me more about that special 8 year medical program?
i heard that it is highly selective--do you guys think that i should try applying?
--and another question, how do we know if we are a national merit scholar?
thanks!

i heard that usc wasnt a good undergrad school for students interested in the medical path.. is this something i should consider?

can someone give me some input about the BS/MD program that is highly selective?
do i think i have a chance at the program? i am a bit worried because i dont have any research or internships done high school relating to the field.

if i were accepted to UCSD and USC (not to the BS/MD program) which would be a better school to attend?
thanks

btw.
i recalculated my GPA
its 4.3 W
3.8 UW

thanks!!!!
