How is access to hospitals for volunteering, research, etc. at cornell considering it’s remoteness? I know cornell tends to have a very high med school admission rate so I was wondering what kinds of opportunities the students have ready access to. In other schools that are in or near large cities, there tend to be 4 or 5 hospitals that the students can volunteer in etc., and i was wondering what cornell has in this aspect. Any help appreciated, thanks!
I’m not premed so someone who is might be able to correct me, but there is one hospital in Ithaca and then a bunch nearby in Syracuse. Cornell also has Weill Medical College in NYC but I’m not sure if the Ithaca campus ever sets students up with the NYC campus.
But plenty of people do research right on campus, and plenty are able to get internships/other opportunities across the world during the summer and winter breaks. There certainly isn’t a lack of opportunities at Cornell!
