Hi everyone. What are some good opportunities at Cornell (& Ithaca i guess) for pre med students looking for extracurriculars. Are there many opportunities to shadow local doctors? Are research positions @ Cornell hard to get? Any good clubs to join?

Thanks very much for your contributions!

You can do anything you want from volunteering at Cayuga Medical Center to shadowing physicians to doing research on campus (research is very plentiful as you’d expect it to be). As for what else you can do: jobs, intramural sports, volunteering, etc. In general, clubs are worthless for medical school admissions but you can certainly join any that look fun.

PATCH is a good pre-med club.
