This is kind of pathetic, but basically I applied to George Washington University as a high school senior and didn't get in, and now as a college Freshman I'm applying again as a Transfer.

Hopefully, GWU will take kindly on my "continued interest" into attending the university. They said they would hold off judgment on whether or not I'm admitted until my Spring 2008 grades come in, because they like to admit students with at least 30 credit hours. So basically, I don't think they'll admit me or not until mid-May when I'm able to re-send my transcript.

They had my application (with my two essays) from my high school attempt saved and told me they would just use that, and I asked if I could send in an additional essay (looking back, those two essays were a bit naive and I've learned a lot in my first year of college).

The thing is, the application was due April 1st, and while I got everything in on time, I finally finished my "extra" essay and am debating over whether or not to send it. I could just e-mail and tell them "I've written a short essay on why I have decided to transfer to GWU. I know this is past the deadline, but if you do not accept it feel free to discard it and just consider my two existing essays."

My friend says I should send it, worse case scenario they just don't look at it and my application is in the same state it was before...

buuut what if actually hurts me because I had the audacity to submit something so late after the deadline and it makes me look irresponsible? Of course, best case scenario would be that they read it...what do you guys think i should do?
