Transcript sent out LATE!

Okay...I'm very angry.

I gave my counselor all the materials for transcripts last week. All she had to do was copy my counselor rec (which was already written a month ago) and send it off. It took her until yesterday afternoon and without me coming up in the morning it would be sitting on my high school registar's desk. I told her the deadline was yesterday and she said she would send it out today. Then she told me make sure "i don't send things late again" and I told her my counselor had all the materials and only had to make one copy for me and it could have been sent last week.

I am very angry because will GWU get mad if it was postmarked today? A day after the deadline? I sent in my application materials a week ago. I'm worried...I hope they don't blame me for this because my conuselor had ample time and knew exactly what to do. It doesn't help when you have 4 different counselors all 4 years of high school and the one I have this year is new. It took my mom to call her to make her send my applications for Jaunaury 1st before the holiday break. She told my mom I waited "To the last minute to give her the materials" which was not true. The counselors require 1-2 weeks to write you a recommendation and I gave my counselor 2 and a half weeks. Plus all she had to do was write one and copy it for all my colleges (all my out-of state schools use common app).

What do I do? E-mail GWU? Will they blame me if the transcript was sent it out late even though my materials arrived in DC a few days ago (my app)?

Thanks!
Good Luck to all of those who have applied!

you're getting too stressed out about this- the admissions office doesn't care as long as it gets there reasonably on time. also, they're too busy opening envelopes to notice the date.

btw, my counselor also sent in my transcript late (4 days late) and they still accepted it

You are definitely causing unnecessary stress on yourself. Do you really think all the GWU admission staff is rocking in their computer chairs, filing their nails waiting for your transcript? They're not. They get a large number of applications and simply process them as fast as they can, as long as it's in before they finish dealing with the large influx of procrastinators (like me) then, as cutiepie already said, they probably won't even notice.

My school is still closed from Katrina, stupid $%*#, and I can't get in touch with my college counselor...if your screwed then I’m really screwed.

If you still aren't calm, I suggest that you got run at a local park in order to burn off all that nervous energy.

Yeah, I guess I am just freaking out. I was just mad that my counselor (as many will agree since she is new) is too overwhelmed with her seniors. I wish that she would pay attention more to the dates I guess.

I am overwhelmed myself with the countless applications (as you all are) we have to fill out and I'm very nervous about university. Not knowing what will happen by May is very scary. I have no idea if I'm leaving to another state. It's scary times for many of us and I guess I might have jumped on some of my school's throat.

Thanks guys and again...the best of luck to all of you!
